Last summer the team had its fourth straight undefeated dual meet season and won its fourth Boulder Valley Summer Swim League Championship (BVSSL) in the last five years. Congratulations to all swimmers for wonderful season.

We have a new swim suit design this year which is posted on the website with photos. 2007 team suits will certainly be OK to use this summer. One suggestion is to use the older suit for practice and save the new one for meets and impromptu child vs parent challenges.
We plan to have the swim team results posted each week on the web site.
The “Pre-Teamer Meets” continue to be very popular with both swimmers and parents. We will continue these for 2008 and beyond. Boulder Country Club liked the idea so much, they have invited us to their pool in July.
Six new league records were set by BEST swimmers at last years finals, including individual records by Matt Sherrier (200 free) and Kaley Wheless (100 fly). The 13-14 girls broke both league relay records: Medley: Ailey Ruger, Madie Shaver, Kaley Wheless & Siobhan Hengemuhle & Freestyle: Ailey Ruger, Kaley Wheless, Siobhan Hengemuhle & Sally Summerfield. The boys 15-18 relay teams also set league standards: Medley: Bob Sherrier, Matt Sherrier, Aaron Shaver and John Pellouchoud & Freestyle: Bob Sherrier, Matt Sherrier, Aaron Shaver and Max Scholten. The Board has decided to not have the FUNdraiser this year. With the FUNdraiser and Swim-a-thon back to back, there was some thought that we were asking a lot of parents to contribute twice in a short time period. The Swim-a-thon will go on as usual.
Joining the coaching ranks is long time Elk swim parent and master competitor Myla Houlihan. We also welcome Jenny Gerson to the team as well as a couple of other new coaches yet to be confirmed.
While we strive for excellence, we also encourage and support participation by swimmers of all abilities. Important elements of our team are the lessons learned regarding teamwork and self-discipline, as well improving your swimming.
If you would like to serve on the Swim Board, please let Curt or John know. We always encourage and welcome new blood.
